The collective strength of the Tennessee Fuel & Convenience Store Association membership enhances our powerful advocacy for the fuel and convenience store industries, benefitting all member companies.
Our marketer members are automatically represented by the Petroleum Marketers Association of America (PMAA), which is our national organization comprised of state and regional petroleum marketing and convenience store associations. PMAA members band together to create a nationwide network dedicated to federal representation.
We also work very closely with the National Association Convenience Stores (NACS).

Lobbying & Government Relations
TFCA advocates for petroleum marketers and convenience store owners and operators with state government agencies and the state legislature. The TFCA staff coordinates regional issues and national issues as covered by PMAA, and keeps members informed.
TFCA monitors developments in local, state and national government and provides you with the information you need by sending out legislative and regulatory alerts whenever warranted.
Educational Seminars & Workshops
TFCA sponsors educational programs throughout the year that provide members with information and training in a variety of areas. From in-person education sessions to webinars and online training and learning opportunities, we are constantly developing education sessions and courses to meet your interests and help you grow your business.

A comprehensive listing of petroleum marketers, retailers, vendors and suppliers is published annually. This publication is widely used as a primary resource for locating peers and finding products and services to help your business.
Weekly Newsletter & Quarterly Magazine
Our newsletter, the Mini Edition, is emailed weekly to members bringing you the latest information on regulatory and legislative matters, industry news and trends, association activities and events, and more. Our magazine, TFCA Info, provides with additional news you can use including articles on legal issues, insurance, federal and state regulatory issues, human resources and business management.
Our new website is a readily available resource for all members and serves as your connection to other members, national organizations, governmental services and items of interest. With the click of a mouse, you will have direct access to many internet resources and industry information as well as a free classified section for members.
Some of the most valuable long-term relationships are formed during social gatherings and networking events. Summer Event & Trade Show
The TFCA Summer Event offers multiple opportunities for Tennessee’s petroleum marketers and convenience store operators to network with others in the industry and to support your association.
It is a great way for Tennessee’s petroleum marketers and c-store owners to network, develop new business contacts and learn about new products and services that can increase your profits – a big plus in today’s uncertain economy.
This one-day event, held in Nashville, includes golf and poker tournaments, a table top trade show, silent auction, reception and dinner.
Our fall convention features educational sessions, brand meetings, networking events and a golf tournament.

PMAA has negotiated a new contract extension with Worldpay that went into effect recently. The exclusive agreement offers discounted processing rates (0.029 cents) that cannot be increased during the term of the agreement to state association members. Efforts to receive superior pricing were achieved by partnering with NACS. Both PMAA and NACS combined their number of locations on the credit card program which will result in lower transaction fees to member companies as both programs grow. Other than combining the total number of locations to receive lower fees, the two programs will be managed and run separately with procedures in place to ensure members of both associations are placed in the correct program.

Tennessee i.d. - In 2006, the state of Tennessee passed the Tennessee Responsible Vendor Act, which results in reduced penalties for illegal sales to minors by certified vendors. Upon certification, vendors will not have their license revoked or suspended upon an initial violation. Instead they are faced with a penalty not to exceed $1,000 per offense of a sale to a minor.
Nonparticipating vendors will now face increased civil penalties. Noncompliant vendors guilty of sale to a minor will now face license suspension or revocation or a penalty not to exceed $2,500. Municipal Beer Boards may also revoke the license of noncompliant vendors on 1st offense of sale to a minor. To become compliant with the Tennessee Responsible Vendor Act each vendor employee must complete a responsible vendor training program within 61 days.
